ECEAP Comes to McLane & Garfield!

Kids Playing The Olympia School District has just announced the addition of no-cost Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) preschools to our district for the 2024-25 school year.

Early Learning IS Equity in Action!

Supporting Early Learning programs in elementary schools means children in these programs are:

  • Less likely to repeat a grade
  • More prepared academically for later grades
  • More likely to graduate from high school
  • Higher earners in the workforce

We are thrilled that more Olympia families will gain access to preschool. The District is actively recruiting students and staff for these pilot programs, which will be taking place at both Garfield and McLane Elementary Schools.

THE OSD4ALL District Guide is LIVE!

Please let us know if the guide is helpful, and allow us to correct any errors. We worked collaboratively with the district on this and it will continue to change and grow. We appreciate the feedback!

COMMENT ON SCHOOL CLOSURE POLICY CHANGE

Policy 6883 was broken by the Olympia School District Board in 2024, and they are looking to make this policy to become less specific in the analysis they provide and the community engagement ahead of the 90 day decision period. The comment period for policy changes is unclear & the current 2024-25 Board Calendar has not been approved. The 6000 Policy adoptions will likely happen in September. Please continue giving the board feedback on these policies.

Comment on these and ALL of the 6000 policy series changes by emailing OSD Superintendent Patrick Murphythe School Board, and the Board Student Representatives.
