ABOUT
Madison has been part of the SE (from State Avenue to 18th Ave in the South, Fones road in the east, and Jefferson St downtown) since the mid-50s. It was renovated and moved to Legion Way in 1999, and is the second smallest elementary in the district. Madison was named the South Sound’s Best Elementary School in 2023, 2024, and second place in 2025, when LP Brown took first place!

The building houses one TK (Transition to Kindergarten) classroom and also includes AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) curriculum, which teaches organizational, communication, and self-advocacy skills to help with college and career-readiness.
FOOD, TRANSPORT, & CHILDCARE
Madison is the only Eastside school with free breakfast and lunch, and the only school with free school supplies for all students.

Currently, near 62B, 64, and 60 buslines. Changes to 9x, 21, and 20 buslines on May 3, 2026.

An exception to the rule, they do not have morning Y-Care, but Afternoon Y-Care is available with transportation at Olympia Regional Learning Academy.

TESTIMONIALS

Madison gets a gold star for kindness, patience, and special education services. Our child says it was not only the best school transition that they ever experienced, but the place where they learned how to operate in a classroom the most effectively. They are also always respectful, always responsible, and always really really safe.

Madison has a deeply connected community of families and staff. Its diverse population fosters empathy and kindness beyond elementary school, setting students up to succeed no matter where they come from.
