ABOUT
McLane Elementary School is one of Olympia’s oldest elementary schools, named after a pioneer, and was its own district for many years. It sits at the edge of the city limits and serves students in the largest and most spacious OSD catchment. They host 2 preschools and 2 special education programs.

For preschoolers that qualify, McLane houses the Early Childhood Education Assistance Program (ECEAP) and a Developmental Preschool classroom. They also have a DLC Program (Developmental Learning Classroom) to serve students with moderate cognitive delays in a non-integrated setting and the Life Skills Program for students with profound disabilities. AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) curriculum, which teaches organizational, communication, and self-advocacy skills to help with college and career-readiness, is also available at McLane.
FOOD, TRANSPORT, & CHILDCARE
McLane has free breakfast and lunch, as do ALL westside schools.

Currently, near 6 and 40 buslines. Changes to a 24 minute walk on the 32 busline on May 3, 2026.
