Special TRL Board Meeting
February 10 @ 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm PST
From the AFSCME local 3758B Outreach Committee: We need your help to keep Timberland libraries open and staffed in our community!
Timberland Regional Library (TRL) management announced a sudden budget deficit last week. They immediately made the decision to layoff frontline library staff, reduce purchasing of new books and materials, and limit events and programs going forward. If this plan comes to pass, our communities can expect more staffless libraries (like TRL did in Naselle in 2024) and slow, stretched-thin service in the libraries that remain staffed.
With community support, we can call on TRL’s Board of Trustees to halt layoffs, investigate the financial mismanagement, and seek equitable solutions to the budget shortfall that won’t interrupt library access in our communities.
