District 5 School Board Candidate, Gil Lamont

At the time of this writing, 2 candidates, Britney Smith in district 3 and Jeremy Ruse in district 5, have filed with the Secretary of State for Olympia School Board Director candidacy. Gil Lamont has declared his intention to file this week.

This week, we look at district 5 candidate, Gil Lamont.

“Hi! My name is Gilbert Lamont, and I’m running for Olympia School Board district 5. I’m proud to be a father of two young children beginning their journey in the Olympia School District. I’m also a husband to a dedicated career educator, a military veteran, and a data analyst with a deep commitment to public service.

As our family becomes part of the OSD community, I’m inspired to contribute by supporting our incredible teachers, administrators, families, and neighbors in creating the best possible educational experience for every student.

I believe that when we keep students at the heart of our conversations and decisions, we build a stronger, more inclusive, and more effective school system

I believe that when we keep students at the heart of our conversations and decisions, we build a stronger, more inclusive, and more effective school system; one that lifts up every child and reflects the values of our community.

To do this I believe it is important to keep discussions and actions student centered.

I look forward to answering any questions you have and getting to know more of you in the OSD community!”

If you have any questions for this candidate, we will be compiling them and presenting them to all candidates that declare their candidacy.

OSD4ALL is not a political organization and will not endorse any candidates. We do however want those who reside within the district to be able to easily access information on all the candidates, engage with them equitably, and ensure all questions for the candidates are answered (or at least asked) so you can make an informed decision on the school board members.
