Three candidates have officially filed for candidacy in the Olympia School Board Director race in District 3, and three candidates have filed in District 5. Each race will go to the primary districtwide on August 5th. On November 4th, two candidates in each race will compete in the general election. We will continue to engage each candidate and inform the district community, and we encourage your support and turnout.
This week, we look at District 5 candidate, Jeremy Ruse.
“My name is Jeremy Ruse, I’m running for the OSD Board of Directors, District Five. I’ve been a member of Thurston County for over thirty years, during that time I’ve raised four beautiful children, with one still attending an OSD school, I met my wife here and we’ve been small business owners for the past thirteen years. Olympia is my home, I owe a debt of gratitude to the community who has supported us, I’ve decided it’s time to give back. Youth have always been a priority for me, I intend to rely on my business and personal experiences to bring a balanced and logical approach to policy and fiscal decisions. I look forward to sharing my goals and ideas with the community, I hope that I can earn your vote in November.“

OSD4ALL is not a political organization and will not endorse any candidates. We do however want those who reside within the district to be able to easily access information on all the candidates, engage with them equitably, and ensure all questions for the candidates are answered (or at least asked) so you can make an informed decision on the school board members.
