ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLS

The Olympia School District is known for having a variety of choice programming. These three schools cover a wide array of alternative learning experiences within our district. EVERY ONE of these programs are beholden to state curriculum standards, but they deliver these standards in unique ways inside and outside the classroom.

Enrollment varies in a variety of ways that we cover here, including lotteries and applications, as well as within service areas. For alternative programs within neighborhood schools, look to HANSEN ELEMENTARY for the HAP (Hansen
Alternative Program), ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY for ALPS (Advanced Learning Program), THURGOOD MARSHALL MIDDLE SCHOOL for CSI (Citizens’ Science Institute), JEFFERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL for JAMS (Jefferson Advanced Math & Science), and REEVES MIDDLE SCHOOL for RAMS (Reeves Arts & Music/Advanced Math & Science).
